Brushless Motor for FPV Drone FT 4220 650KV 6S

The FT 4220 650KV motor is designed for heavy-duty builds. The 12N14P configuration and 6S power (max 25.2 V) are perfectly suited for the stable operation of FPV platforms with massive 13–15 inch propellers, ensuring high thrust and predictable control.

The 650KV rating, combined with the massive Ø49.5 × 58 mm rotor, delivers significant torque at low RPMs. With a peak power of 1961.8 W, this brushless drone motor provides ample potential for working with large propellers and generating high lift.

The built-in turbine-style cooling ensures efficient heat dissipation. The internal resistance of 21 mΩ helps reduce resistive losses and winding temperatures during high-current operation. A stable efficiency rate is maintained even at a peak current of up to 102 A.

The motor is engineered for specialized applications: heavy-lift multicopters and large-scale long-range platforms. Its weight (261 g) is fully justified by the drone’s ability to hover for extended periods with a payload without a critical loss of thrust.

Reliable power electronics are necessary for safe operation. The design of this drone motor for 13″–15″ propellers features an enlarged Ø30 mm (4 × M4) mounting base, requiring sufficiently wide frame arms. Given the continuous current draw of up to 67.3 A and peak loads up to 102 A, it is highly recommended to use Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs) capable of sustaining continuous currents of 70–80 A and peaks over 100 A in a 6S configuration.
